CANDLE BURNING AND SAFETY INFORMATION

TIPS

Avoid burning candles in locations where there are drafts, excessive vibrations or nearby sources of heat. These may encourage dripping and uneven burning and may cause the flame to smoke.
If you are burning candles in a decorative arrangement keep them at least 3" apart to maintain burning quality. The heat from each other can cause poor burning quality.

SAFETY

Keep wax pool free of any wick trimmings, matches or other debris that may present a fire hazard.
It is best to extinquish a candle flame with a snuffer or wick dipper but if you blow it out, be sure to blow gently to prevent splattering the melted wax. NEVER use water to extinguish the flame. Water and wax don't mix, it may not re-light. Do not replace the lid on a jar candle while burning.

TIPS

If the candle is burning unevenly, move the extinquished wick to the center with a metal fork or spoon handle, or use a wick dipper, while the wax is soft.

SAFETY

No matter how good a candle smells-they are not food and should never be eaten!
Extinquish the flame before trimming the wick and never allow the wick to come in contact with the side of a glass jar. Keep wicks trimmed to 1/4" and centered.
Discard the candle when only about 1/2" of wax remains. This could prevent possible damage to the surface the candle is sitting on or the container the candle is in.
Never leave a burning candle unattended even for a short time. Always keep candles out of reach of children and pets and never leave them alone in a room with a burning candle.

TIP

The first time you burn your candle allow it to burn long enough that the pool of melted wax reaches its outer edge. This could take a little while because Soy Wax burns cool and slow. In future burnings it should only burn as far from the wick as it did the on the first burning. This is called "candle memory".After the breaking in time allow the candle to burn no longer than the number hours that equals its diameter (ex. a 3" candle=3 hours) or for best results allow it burn at least long enough for the wax to melt to the edge of the jar. If burned correctly your candle should burn clean and you should have no wax wasted. (It's very important to keep the wick trimmed to 1/4". Trim each time before you light the candle--and remember--don't blow your candle out and have all that smoke--use a Wick Dipper!)

SAFETY

Never burn candles near any flammable surface. Never touch or move a candle when the wax is liquid.

TIP

To keep your soy candles smooth and silky looking gently rub them with a nylon stocking. This will remove scratches. Do not place your candles in direct sunlight to prevent fading. Store in a cool, dark and dry place.

CLEVER TRICK!

If you do not have a candle snuffer position your forefinger between the candle and your mouth, aligning it with the flame. When you blow at the candle the "air" will circle around your finger and hit the flame from both sides rather than approaching it directly.
