According to research done by soy wax candle makers, 100% soy wax alone is not stable enough to support a pillar candle. It needs to be a blend with other "natural" wax.
Soy wax is made from hydrogenated soybean oil. Unlike paraffin wax that is made from petroleum it is a safer wax to burn and it will save you money because soy wax burns 50% longer and gives you more candle enjoyment. Soy wax burns slower and cooler than paraffin wax.

One air quality researcher (State of California Proposition 65-Safe Drinking and Water Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) said there are at least seven toxins in paraffin candle wax including benezene, an affirmed carcinogen! Paraffin is created as a by product of diesel refining! So paraffin wax soot contains many of the same toxins produced by burning diesel fuel. Many of the candles sold today can do you harm! According to the American Lung Association the carcinogens produced by parrafin is equal to the damage caused by second hand smoke from tobacco smoke!

Soy Wax is made from a renewable source, it does not decrease the CO2 level in the atmosphere. If burned properly soy wax produces very little soot (see candle burning safety information). Soy wax is a cheaper alternative to Beeswax. Beeswax is expensive.Soy Wax is biodegradeable and a renewable source.Soy wax is a soft and creamy wax. Soy wax may sweat during temperature changes. Don't be alarmed, you can either leave it there or wipe it away, this is natural and will usually not recur after the first initial burning.
